Jack Thorsen

"I will always fight for family values and the right of parents to direct the education of their children without government interference."

House Candidate, Rockingham County, District 16 serving: Newington, Portsmouth Wards 1-5

Jack Thorsen, technology entrepreneur and family man, moved to Portsmouth, NH with his wife, Minto, and daughter, Teighe, in 2005 after founding a new technology company that today is the thought leader in hard disk drive cleansing products and services.  (See www.deadondemand.com) Jack is a twenty-six year veteran of the computer industry, working for large disk drive manufacturers, such as IBM, Seagate and Maxtor, and spent eleven years running manufacturing plants and developing technology infrastructure throughout Asia.  Jack has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Juris Doctorate degree.

“My career has taught me how to create good paying jobs, how to create incentives to attract business, and what legislative pitfalls to avoid when trying to jump start a sluggish economy.”

Jack and Minto homeschooled their children, Graham and Teighe, who are now both grown, because they knew that the best place for learning and growing is in the family.  Graham now has a family of his own and Teighe attends a university in Washington, DC.

“I will always fight for family values and the right of parents to direct the education of their children without government interference.  Minto and I chose to homeschool because homeschooling gave us the ability to customize our children’s education to meet their individual needs and allowed us to introduce them to real world relationships and interaction.”

Jack seeks the office of State Representative, Rockingham District 16, which includes Portsmouth and Newington, and is running on a platform of economic recovery and growth through low spending, low taxation and job creation, of family values that protect a family’s privacy and autonomy, and of protection of individual liberty.
